AFTER more than 50 years operating at one location, the North Wollongong Post Office has closed its doors.
The post office operated from a shop in Bourke St.However, NSW communications manager Scott McIntyre said Australia Post intended to keep a shopfront presence in North Wollongong. He said it expected to reopen the outlet but it may not be in the same location."The Australia Post outlet in North Wollongong was operating as a licensed post office until December 2007," Mr McIntyre said. "It was closed due to contractual issues with the licensee."
