LEND Lease chief operating officer Ross Taylor will leave the group after almost 20 years, after it became apparent he was not a candidate to replace outgoing CEO Greg Clarke.
In a short statement before the sharemarket opened yesterday, Lend Lease chairman David Crawford confirmed that Mr Taylor would step down and leave the group, following a "transition" phase.Mr Taylor spent many years in London working on Lend Lease's Bovis development business before returning to head the newly formed global construction businesses. In that time, he has worked in a climate of weakening residential markets, as well as some write-downs from contractors that went into default, in Australia and Britain.Mr Crawford said Mr Taylor's role would not be filled, pending resolution of the search process to replace Mr Clarke. -- CAROLYN CUMMINS
